About this product

About this formulation

Busy routines, restricted diets and periods of recovery can all leave gaps in everyday nutrition. Ceptomin is designed to help close them, combining essential vitamins and minerals with herbs long valued in Ayurveda.

Each tablet brings together eight vitamins, including B12, D and folic acid, and five minerals, among them iron, zinc and magnesium. Alongside these sit L-carnitine, L-arginine and eighteen botanical extracts such as ashwagandha, arjuna, tulsi, giloy and moringa.

Ceptomin also contains 2 mg of melatonin, a hormone involved in the sleep and wake cycle, so it is best taken in the evening. It is a complement to a varied diet, not a replacement for one.

Who it is intended for

Adults whose diets, routines or recovery leave them short of micronutrients, as part of a balanced diet and under the guidance of a doctor.

Precautions

A nutraceutical, not a medicine, and not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. Read the label before use. Consult a doctor before use in pregnancy or while breastfeeding, for children, or if you have a medical condition or take other medicines. Do not exceed the recommended dose. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and out of the reach of children. Contains melatonin, which can cause drowsiness, so take it in the evening and avoid driving if drowsy. Contains iron: keep away from children. Seek advice if you take blood thinners, sedatives, thyroid or diabetes medicines.

Vitamin B12

Very safe at usual doses. Deficiency should be properly diagnosed so that the cause is not missed.

Vitamin D

Excess can raise blood calcium, causing nausea, thirst and kidney problems. Calcitriol, the active form, should be used only under medical supervision with monitoring.

Calcium

Excess can cause constipation and kidney stones in susceptible people. Calcium reduces the absorption of iron, thyroid medicines and some antibiotics if taken at the same time.

Iron

Iron overdose is dangerous, especially for children. Keep all iron-containing products out of reach of children. Iron can cause constipation and dark stools.

Melatonin

Can cause next-day drowsiness. People with epilepsy, or taking warfarin, should seek advice. Avoid driving if drowsy.

Curcumin

Usually well tolerated. Rare liver injury has been reported with high-bioavailability supplements. May increase bleeding risk with anticoagulants. Seek advice if you have gallstones.

Mulethi

Large amounts of liquorice taken for long periods can raise blood pressure and lower potassium. Seek advice if you have high blood pressure, heart or kidney disease.

Giloy

Case series from India have described liver injury, sometimes with autoimmune features, after giloy use during the COVID-19 pandemic. Use under guidance and avoid prolonged high doses. People with autoimmune or liver disease should seek advice.

Milk thistle

Generally well tolerated. Mild digestive upset can occur. People allergic to plants of the daisy family should avoid it.

Ashwagandha

Usually well tolerated in trials. Rare cases of liver injury have been reported. Not advised in pregnancy. Seek advice if you have thyroid, autoimmune or liver disease, or take sedatives, thyroid medicines or immunosuppressants.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

When should I take Ceptomin?

Because it contains melatonin, the evening is usually most appropriate. Follow your doctor's advice on dose.

Can I take it with other supplements?

Check with your doctor or pharmacist first, because several vitamins and minerals are already included and doubling up is rarely helpful.

Is it suitable for vegetarians?

Please check the pack for the latest information on the tablet coating and excipients, or ask us.
